What does off-grid mean?We are fully powered by solar energy, embracing a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle. Each of our cabins is equipped with its own system that provides lighting and outlets, as well as a fan in the "Rise" cabin. Our main bathhouse is fully powered and equipped with all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Enjoy the freedom of a self-sustaining environment while reducing your carbon footprint and connecting with nature.

How are we eco-friendly?We embody sustainability by being entirely solar powered, minimizing waste, and collecting rainwater in barrels to conserve resources. We also support our local community and business, as only local hands built Sweet Janes! Furthermore, we respect all life by only cutting trees when absolutely necessary and avoiding pesticides. Our goal is to preserve the wilderness and maintain the natural forest feel.

What amenities are on the property?In addition to our main bathhouse that features a communal kitchen and private bathrooms, we offer a variety of amenities to enhance your stay. We have two yurts: one dedicated to yoga, meditation, and sacred circles while the other features a cozy library. Additionally, there are several beautiful marked hiking trails on the grounds. The property also features a pond and several hammocks to unwind. Finally, each room includes robes for your stay and complimentary slippers.

What does the communal kitchen offer?Our communal kitchen is fully stocked with every appliance you might need for cooking and dining. There’s also a large refrigerator waiting for you to fill with your favorite foods and ingredients.

Do the cabins have their own bathrooms?While the cabins themselves do not have their own bathrooms, we offer several in a short distance. The main bathhouse has two private bathrooms, each with septic toilets and showers. Additionally, there are two compost toilets located on the grounds. ~ Scotch Pine (1 minute walk to bathhouse) ~ Rise (4 minute walk to bathhouse) ~ Cozy (5 minute walk to bathhouse)

How far is the walk from the cabins to the yurts?The yurts are a scenic 10-minute aerobic walk from the cabin, marked clearly and taking you past the serene pond.

How far are we from Asheville?We are conveniently located just 35 minutes from Asheville and a quick 7-minute drive to downtown Marshall. You can find recommended local activities under “adventures.”

What are ways you can customize your stay?We are closely connnected to a number of local professionals including massage therapists, yoga instructors, and personal chefs. They are happy to come to the property upon your request, so just let us know your preferences before your stay and we’ll arrange everything.

Can we reserve the entire property?Absolutely! We are happy to help you organize small retreats, family reunions, and intimate events for your special occasion.
